R&D Engineers. Racers.

Double Dog Moto was founded in San Francisco in July 2009 by mechanical engineer and road racer Mark Henry to commercialize his innovations in structural carbon fiber and performance exhaust systems. Our unique perspective on Superbikes produces unique products. What is so different about this parts company? We are real engineers and road racers (AFM). Not industrial designers. Not café racers. Not talkers. Not ‘forum heroes’. They all have their place, but that’s not us.

There aren’t many qualified mechanical engineers dedicating significant resources to Superbike research and development, and personally racing their developments. We believe Superbikes need considerable development to become competitive race machines, because the big manufacturers must manufacture models that appeal to the largest possible target market - the street rider who isn't concerned about lower lap times or more precision in the canyons. We are innovators who can improve this performance in certain areas.

Mark: A qualified and experienced mechanical engineer, Mark grew up squirting around on dirt bikes in the bush of his native Australia, and progressed through many dirt and road bikes over the years. Sad to say, but he sold his previous MHR Ducati so he could focus 100% on family and building an international business.

In 2007 with the business running well, Mark couldn't resist the call of the Ducati and took delivery of a 1098. The 1098 opened him up to track days where he does most of his R&D, and with lap times dropping he found that the stock 1098 just wasn't enough. Mark’s background is in metallurgy, product innovation, manufacturing and building international brands, and is the inventor of record on a number of important industry-changing patents - skills that are transferring nicely to innovation for sportbike performance.

Mark is also a racer (AFM #821), where he puts all his innovations 100% on the line.
Daniel: Ever since reviving his Dad’s abandoned Vespa Bravo moped when he was 13 he's been a two stroke enthusiast. After restoring and customizing over 20 Vespa and Lambretta scooters, he made the switch to motorcycles by trading a Vespa frame and working engine for an RZ350 rolling chassis and a motor in boxes.

Four years later the bike is always a project under construction, but also remains his daily commuter. Daniel also loves the track, and taking a 25 year old 'stroker' out against all the brand new superbikes got his brain chewing on how to upgrade a classic motorcycle icon. Daniel’s background is in drafting, 3D modeling, graphic design, construction, and motor repair - ideal for Double Dog Moto performance engineering
