DD2R Monocoque Tail for Ducati 848/1098/1198:
All carbon fiber monocoque with titanium reinforcement for crash resistance, this tail section replaces the entire steel subframe and cowling and weigin in at approx 6 pounds, it yields an 10 pound weight reduction. Too radical looking? - try our stock look carbon fiber tail too.
Most important is the location where the weight is reduced: high up over the rear wheel and a long way from the center of mass.
Radically shifts the center of mass of the bike down and towards the front wheel, resulting in a very different 'flickable' chassis balance* - changing direction more like a superlight 600, while retaining high speed stability.
Carbon fiber monocoque is constructed with vacuum-bagging technique for maximum strength and minimum weight.
Threaded inserts for bolting your stock seat directly to the DD2R monocoque.
Does not include lights or license plate holder, but can be converted to street with aftermarket LED light/license sets (depending on road rules in your area).
Comes with instructions for installation, but it's as simple as removing the stock cowling and 4 bolts for the subframe then bolting the DD2R on with the same 4 bolts.
Available in beautiful clear gloss finish and can be painted to match your bike (by others).
Not compatible with the stock exhaust system (no mount for under seat mufflers) - designed to perfectly complement the high performance Double Dog 134DD Exhaust for even greater weight savings and improved handling.
