Sponsored racer Aaron Borello and Double Dog 'extreme testing':

So how tough are our products? We sponser racers because we know they will test our products to destruction...or at least try. But try as he might WERA Expert Aaron Borello (currently leading the WERA Mid-Atlantic & Northeast Regions) has not managed to destroy our tail section after a variety of attempts. Below he describes his latest crash:

"This year I am utilizing the tail section on my Ducat 848. Unfortunately this season has had me on the ground several times. The first crash was a simple low side after I hit fluid on the track from a crash that had occurred. Once again since the 135DD exhaust is so tight to the bike it was never impacted. The tail section had a few scratches but did not absorb an "impact".

The next race weekend the bolt that holds the rear link to the frame backed out! I was in the middle of turn 10 at Nelson Ledges when I felt rear slide (it was actually dropping), and since I "thought" I was about to hi-side I held the gas open trying to prevent the hi-side. This was disastrous since I had no rear suspension at this point

The next thing I knew I was upside down in the air and the bike was also airborne. As I hit the ground I saw the bike land directly on the left side of the Double Dog tail section. I thought that I had finally destroyed the tail section. After an ambulance trip back to the paddock and realizing that although I had a bunch of pain... I was basically injury free (although I knew I was gonna be sore). So like any racer I wanted to see my bike and the damage it had sustained. That is when I discovered that the bolt backed out and also that the tail section was damaged but not destroyed. I was actually amazed it was still on the bike! I again sent the tail back to Double Dog Moto for testing. Unbelievably the tail section only has cosmetic damage and again rig tested perfectly.

The cost to replace these parts had I been using a dual can exhaust and steel or aluminum subframe would be several thousand at this point!"

We repaired the cosmetic damage to the tail and Aaron is back out on the track!
